Position Overview
The Marketing Communications Coordinator works closely with the management team and the Business Development Specialist to identify and implement marketing strategies to foster organic growth for Shepherd Financial Partners. This is a creative role that focuses both on content creation and event coordination. The Marketing Communications Coordinator is responsible for creating strategy-driven content across our website, blog, social media, and both paid and unpaid advertisements. Beyond direct digital communication, the Marketing Communications Coordinator will also identify and pursue opportunities to organize virtual and in-person client events with the intent of enhancing client experience and encouraging client referrals. By creating opportunities for the firm to meaningfully engage with clients, this role is an essential component of Shepherd Financial Partner’s value offering. The position is offered in Winchester, Massachusetts where the Marking Coordinator will work collaboratively with team members. There will also be the opportunity for remote work for some responsibilities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Marketing & External Communication (35%)
Communications Strategy
In collaboration with the Business Development Specialist, Marketing Coordinator will:
- Create an external communications strategy across Shepherd-owned channels (social media, website, client emails, blog posts, etc.)
- Conceptualize and execute cross-channel social media campaigns
- Research, test, and implement new communications technologies while maintaining current tools and interfacing with technology providers.
Digital Media Content Creation & Sharing
In collaboration with the Business Development Specialist, the Marketing Coordinator will:
- Maintain a comprehensive content calendar using Hootsuite and Notion to organize all social media and website content.
- Create sharable and visually-engaging content to promote the firm’s work, research, and mission.
- Oversee content creation from beginning to end including establishing vision, writing content, and designing digital graphics using Canva.
- Oversee video production (using iMovie and Vimeo) to execute various communications projects.
- Manage approval through our compliance organization, sharing/posting across Shepherd-owned channels (social media, website, client emails, blog posts, etc.).
- Utilize CRM software to distribute mass email communications to clients/leads.
- Monitor, track, and give meaning to all social media analytics. Effectively internally communicating how these analytics will drive strategy is essential.
Social Media Platform Maintenance
- Manage the company’s social media profiles.
- Facilitate employee engagement with company social media communications through training and through technical expertise.
- Maintain and enforce compliance standards with regards to social media and all platforms.
Client Event Plan & Implementation (35%)
In collaboration with the Business Development Specialist, the Marketing Communications Coordinator will:
- Develop an annual event strategy and calendar with a minimum of 1 event per quarter.
- Continue with the implementation of our Women’s Strategy Network and develop a strategy to enable on-going presence.
- Develop and execute a plan for each event including topics, speakers, presentations, activities, client gifts, food, and venues.
- Collaborate with outside vendors and partners.
- Organize guest list, logistics, invitations, RSVPs, thank you’s, and follow-ups.
- Work with our compliance team to meet compliance requirements.
Client Materials Management (20%)
- Create and carry forward re-branding of marketing materials for team members to share with clients.
- Maintain upkeep of hard-copy and electronic libraries.
- Work with the team to create presentations for clients and prospects.
- Work with the team to create more complex pieces on financial and wealth management to demonstrate our thought leadership.
- Manage other design needs such as presentation material, signage, business cards, letterhead, notepads, folders.
Website Platform Maintenance (10%)
- Design and maintain the website by providing updates, revisions, and the addition of new pages (with assistance from our external website support team).
- Create content for informational pages and for the blog.
- Write and post blog posts to website.
- Carry-out website re-fresh as needed
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience
- The minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of prior experience managing professional social media platforms. (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
- Experience writing both short and long form content—copy and blogposts.
- Ability to use Canva or Adobe Pro in creating appealing digital designs.
- Proficient knowledge of social media and content creation tools such as Hootsuite, iMovie, and Vimeo
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite Software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ability to work with a dynamic team and help out when needed.
- Experience within the Financial Services Sector is an added plus.
- Experience with WordPress/HTML is an added plus.
- Experience with Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems is an added plus.
- Experience working with LPL Financial is an added plus.
Skills and Knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to creatively convey our brand through original content.
- High proficiency in content creation, content creation tools, social media posting, and social media strategies.
- Ability to work independently and balance competing priorities
- Must be able to work collaboratively within the broader team
- Time management skills required to have the ability to handle urgent client/prospect needs and then quickly return to planned activities for the day.
