Steady as she goes.
In our recent Coffee Commentary, we discussed historical market data pertaining to geopolitical events. It was noted that after a geopolitical upheaval, markets have historically become volatile and experience a sharp decline. This decline is followed by a market recovery which varies in length, but often does occur prior to the resolution of the geopolitical event (as shown in the table below).
At Shepherd Financial Partners, we focus on historical data to help guide decision making and avoid emotion-based investing. Staying in markets during times of uncertainly has shown to be a strong determinant of success. As we say, “steady as she goes.”
